Overview: The Schmidt Brewery, which closed its doors in 2004, was recently renovated to create multifamily artist lofts. The open beam timber construction posed unique sound control challenges. Acousti-Mat 3 was installed throughout the brew house and most of the bottle house. In the bottle house, steel deck was retrofit to create a third floor for additional units. In this area, Acousti-Mat SD was laid directly into the flutes of the corrugated steel deck. Enkasonic HP was used in select areas, like the wall plates. All of the sound mat was then topped with 3” of concrete.
