Overview: Built in 1874 and the historical centerpiece of the American Tobacco Campus, the original Bull Durham factory was recently renovated to become high-end condominiums for lease. Carolina Floor Systems was contacted to address significant levelness issues on the 4th and 5th floors of this old timber frame building. Because of weight restrictions, Level-Right LDF was first installed in the most significantly out-of-level areas to fill elevation puddles up to 5" deep. Enkasonic HP was then installed throughout the project to enhance sound control. Following the sound mat installation, the floors were shot and pinned to establish levelness. Then 1" to 4" of Gyp-Crete 2000/3.2K was installed, adding fire resistance and creating a smooth floor ready to receive the solid hardwood and tile finishes selected for the project.
