Acousti-Mat® LPR over Wood Frame Installation Guidelines

    Acousti-Mat CLP Acousti-Mat LP Installation
1. 3" Acousti-Mat LP Isolation Strips are installed around and up all walls, columns, and floor penetrations to eliminate flanking paths. Approximately 1" of the isolation strip should go on the wall, column, etc. and the rest on the subfloor.

4. At butt joints Acousti-Mat LP Isolation Strips should be installed to cover any exposed subfloor. Spray contact adhesive on the isolation strip and press both ends of Acousti-Mat LPR into the isolation strip.

5. Acousti-Mat LPR is covered with approved Maxxon Underlayment, at a minimum 3/4" depth. To ensure uniform depth and a smooth finish, installers use a "screed" to finish the underlayment surface.  (If Acousti-Mat is installed only in hard surface areas, the underlayment is poured directly over the subfloor in areas to be covered with carpet and pad.)

6. In as little as two hours after the underlayment has been poured, the floor is hard enough to accommodate foot traffic, so light subtrades may continue working.  Total drying time varies depending on the type of finished floor goods to be installed, but is generally completed within 10 to 14 days.

*Once the mat has been loose laid, no further penetrations should be made.  Rigid attachments through the sound mat minimizes the sound performance.
